strawberry sorbet

last night I made some sorbet for the first time ...

strawberry sorbet my recipe, easy peasy!
· 750gr juicy and ripe strawberries (I'm lucky to have them locally produced, the ones I used for the recipe last night had been picked in the afternoon)
· 1 cup of raw cane sugar
· just enough hot water to help dissolve the sugar less than 1/4 cup
· juice of a freshly squeezed lemon, sieved

wash, hull and dry the strawberries · blend them into a puree · dissolve the sugar in the hot water and add to the strawberry puree · add lemon juice · place in a non-metallic container and freeze* · when it starts to freeze blend the sorbet again · freeze until ready to serve

I think sorbets are going to be this year's summer treat over here! :)

*if you want to use an ice cream machine follow the manufacturers instructions
..........................................

It sounds like a very simple recipe and if I come near an icecream machine, I'll certainly give it a try. I might be able to use a few of my own grown strawberries, but I'm afraid I'll have to buy most of them elsewhere.

It's so nice yours were fresh and thanks for sharing this.

hi Eva

thank you!
actually you don't need an ice cream machine ... I don't have one!
you just need to blend the sorbet a couple of times during the freezing process ... enjoy! :)

That's amazing. I must've misread that part. I'll give a try very soon then! The warmer weather will go so well with this.

Thanks for the lovely comment as well!
